Sophie Mittaz-Couturier bought the " La Prairie " guesthouse in 1930.
At the age of 33, she embarked on a wonderful adventure accompanied by her sister, Virginie Mittaz, and her 13-year-old daughter, Cécile Couturier.
This small guesthouse was surrounded by meadows and forest. There were goats, chickens, pigs, a cow and a large vegetable garden, which delighted guests by cooking only fresh produce.
The famous French actor Fernandel was one of the guests.
In 1962, Bernard Pichard, Cécile's son, took over the guesthouse with his wife, and they decided to expand it into a 30-room hotel.
From their union were born 3 children, the current owners of the establishment, Corine, Nadine & Valérie.
From a second marriage came Julien, who worked here until 2012.
Major renovations were carried out in 1987 and again in 2008.
Bernard decided to retire in 2011, after 49 years at the helm of the hotel.
